Am 19. Juni 2023 war es so weit: Das Lili Debating Team hat sich auf den Weg zum John-Lennon-Gymnasium gemacht, um nach nur wenigen Wochen intensiver Vorbereitung den Sprung ins kalte Wasser zu wagen und in der Junior Division beim Berlin-Brandenburg Debating Contest 2023 anzutreten.
Noch ein letztes Mal wurden die Karteikarten durchgegangen, bevor es um 11:00 Uhr dann endlich hieß: „This House would ban flights for school trips.“
Die gute Vorbereitung als Team und das Proben haben sich für Ella (8.4), Franziska (8.1), Leyla (8.4), Marie (8.4) und Sarah (8.4) gelohnt: Die vier Reden liefen noch besser als erhofft und am Ende stellte unser Team mit Franziska (8.1) sogar den „Speaker of the Debate“!
Herzlichen Glückwunsch an das gesamte Lili Debating Team!
And open-minded and intelligent as you are, ladies and gentlemen, we may have convinced you that a ban of flights for school trips is the only sensible solution! With all the alternatives and arguments supporting our case, there really is no necessity for flying. A ban is clearly justified!
For all these reasons, Ladies and Gentlemen, this motion must stand!
